Yoga Integral

Yoga means UNION.

The way we reach that state of union is what distinguishes the various styles of yoga.

In Integral Yoga, we seek to control the fluctuations of the mind (thoughts) in order to attain that state of harmony.

An anxious, restless, agitated, or depressed mind cannot achieve a state of harmony; therefore, we gradually direct the mind using the tools at our disposal: our body and our breath.

The practice of Integral Yoga is perfect for beginners, offering an introduction to meditation, breathing (pranayama), and proper posture technique. We adapt the class intensity to the group's level, following the teaching lineage of the master T. Krishnamacharya.

Integral Yoga practice frees the mind from daily stress by combining movement with breath. It relaxes and tones the body while correcting imbalances through the proper practice of asanas.

Fears of a beginner:

Flexibility develops gradually; the goal of this practice is not to place your foot behind your head—that is merely a byproduct. Furthermore, being more flexible does not make you a better practitioner.
Integral Yoga is ideal for people of all ages, whether they are 10 or 100. Breathing techniques and postures can always be adapted to suit different life stages and physical conditions.

Recommendations:

Just as it is better to brush your teeth every day rather than only twice a week, it is preferable to practice Yoga for 30 minutes daily rather than for four hours on a single day.
• Do not eat for 2 to 3 hours before practice; ideally, it should be done on an empty stomach.
• Avoid drinking water during practice, as it halts the purification process; if possible, refrain from drinking for half an hour before and after the session.
• It is recommended to practice in comfortable clothing and to have a towel handy.
According to the ancient scriptures of Patanjali, the only person who cannot practice Yoga is the lazy person.
If you have the motivation, you are already halfway there!

This class is recommended for students seeking a gentler, more meditative practice; it is suitable for all levels and physical abilities.

The practitioner gains control over the senses and self-awareness. Consequently, the body heals, and the mind finds peace.
